Most frequent questions and answers

No problem…if you are on a flexible membership (Anytime, Off-peak) it is one months written notice to cancel, this means there is always one more payment, and your membership automatically ends a month after that final payment. As per our terms and conditions please DO NOT cancel your direct debit, this will incur further charges for failed direct debits, and you will lose access to the gym.

 

For Direct Debit contract members, you will need to be at least 10 months through your contract before you can give notice to cancel. Then after that the same terms apply as above.

 

If you ever want to re-join, you just need to email customerservice@pbgym.uk to avoid duplicating your account.

Please do not sign up again through the website, or you will duplicate your account and won’t be able to log in to Fitsense. 

You should have received a welcome email with information on how to access the gym. 

 

Be sure to have a check in your junk box, just in case!

 

If you still can’t find it, please download our app ‘Fitsense’, go to MEMBER SIGN IN, then activate your account with the exact details you signed up with…then you’re good to go!

The quickest and easiest way to pay your arrears is through your fitsense app. Just log in and go to the ‘online store’ to pay. 

 

You can be back in the gym and training in a matter of minutes!!

A large public car park is adjacent to Morrisons car park. and is free to use and a short walk to the gym.

 

It is not advisable to park in any of the numbered bays close to the unit.  

These are exclusively for staff of the nearby offices and you risk getting your workout interrupted and asked to move your car, or worse still risk getting a penalty notice, as these are permit holder spaces.

 

Do not park in PB’s staff spaces, or in front of the big sliding door. If you do, please don’t be offended of you are asked to move your vehicle

There is a covered bike shed right opposite PB gym.

We have a 14-18 membership exclusively for young people, with access hours between 7am and 8pm

 

Due to our insurance we have to limit our U18s spaces to 10 people and an induction is required.

 

Please email us on customerservice@pbgym.uk to join the wait list.

 

Spaces generally come up every few months so you won’t have to wait for long!

Emergency First Aid Policy

1. Purpose
This policy outlines the emergency first aid procedures in place at PB Gym Teignmouth to ensure the safety of all members and visitors during gym hours. It reflects our status as a partially unmanned facility, open daily from 5:30 AM to 11:00 PM, supported by 24/7 surveillance and panic alert systems.

 

2. Scope
This policy applies to all gym users, including members, guests, contractors, and cleaners who access the gym during operating hours.

 

3. Key Safety Measures
Opening Hours:
5:30 AM to 11:00 PM daily (irregular staff hours in attendance)

 

  • CCTV Monitoring :
    All areas are under live surveillance, enabling emergency responses even when staff are not present.
  • Emergency Panic Buttons:
    Strategically placed throughout the gym. When activated, they alert an external monitoring team who will contact emergency services if required.
  • First Aid Kits:
    Located in clearly marked areas including reception, and upper atrium lockers. Kits are regularly inspected and restocked.
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED):
    Located at Morrisons Teignmouth near the main entrance]. Easy-to-follow instructions are included. If Morrisons is closed please press the panic button who will call 999 immediately

 

4. Member Responsibilities

  • Use equipment safely and report hazards or concerns.
  • Familiarise yourself with emergency equipment locations and procedures.
  • Press the panic button immediately in any emergency situation.
  • Report all incidents, including minor ones, via the online report form or in person during staffed hours.

 

5. Emergency Procedures

5.1 Medical Emergency

  1. Press a Panic Button to alert our monitoring team.
  2. Call 999 if you are able.
  3. Provide the address:
    PB Gym Teignmouth, Unit 14-15 Estuary Court, Broadmeadow Industrial Estate, Teignmouth, TQ14 9FA
  4. Do not move the injured person unless they are in immediate danger.
  5. Use the First Aid Kit if it is safe to do so.
  6. Remain with the person until help arrives, if possible.

 

5.2 Fire or Safety Emergency

  1. Leave the building immediately via the nearest safe exit.
  2. Call 999 and provide the gym address.
  3. Alert others on your way out if safe to do so.
  4. Do not re-enter the building until cleared by emergency services.

 

6. Reporting Incidents
All incidents must be reported:

Via the online form: Incident Report Form

Or to staff during staffed hours

 

Reports must include:

Time and date of the incident

Nature of the injury or emergency

Actions taken

Names of those involved (if known)

Any witnesses or relevant details

7. Communication and Signage
Emergency procedures, and panic button instructions are displayed throughout the gym.

All new members receive this information upon joining and in their Welcome Pack.

8. Review and Maintenance
This policy is reviewed annually or following a major incident.

Panic buttons, first aid kits, and surveillance systems are checked regularly and after use.

Training and protocols are reviewed for compliance with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
